AboutMarc Lavoine is a French actor, lyricist, photographer, singer and writer, born on August 6, 1962 in Longjumeau, France. During his teens, he hesitated between acting & singing & started to write songs. However, at 16, he became a member of an acting club & was an usher at Paris' Olympia. He attended many concerts with French stars & met composer & producer Fabrice Aboulker (real name Fabrice Chapuis-Aboulker, born on July 15, 1959). In 1982, Marc was sent to Lyon to be part of a hard-rock band, Your Vice, but the experience was finally short & he went back to Paris. Still hesitating between acting & singing, he played a role in "Pause Café" in 1981, which star was Véronique Jannot.

First record
In 1983, Marc signed to Philips & released his first 7" single, "Je N'Sais Même Plus De Quoi J'Ai L'Air". The following year, he became known with his single "Pour Une Biguine Avec Toi". In 1985, his song "Elle A Les Yeux Revolver" became one of the teenagers' favourite song : he released his debut album Le Parking Des Anges the same year. In 1987, he released Fabrique, his second album. One of the singles was "Qu'Est-Ce Que T'Es Belle", a duet with Rita Mitsouko leader Catherine Ringer. The romantic singer started to show another face of him. In 1989, he released his third album, Les Amours Du Dimanche..., that sold 300,000 copies. Marc started to be one of the best.
In 1992, two singles were successful. "Paris", title track of his fourth album, was a tribute to the French capital & "L'Amour De Trente Secondes" was about the life of a prostitute. The following year, he signed to RCA/BMG & released his fifth album Faux Rêveur.

Encounters
Marc never gave up acting. In 1994, Claude Chabrol directed the film "L'Enfer" in which Marc was acting with Emmanuelle Béart. In 1995, Jérôme Savary directed the musical "Cabaret", in which Marc played. The same year, he recorded a duet with Véronique Sanson, "Une Nuit Sur Son Épaule".
In 1996, he released his sixth album Lavoine-Matic, the single "C'Est Ça La France" was an anthem of tolerance & he received a Victoire De La Musique for "Video". The prize was given by his friend Princess Erika, who sang the duet on "Les Hommes Sont Des Femmes Comme Les Autres".
In 1999, his seventh album Septième Ciel came out. The first single from the album was "Les Tournesols". Marc worked with Jean-Jacques Goldman & Pascal Obispo for some songs.

Eighth album
In 2001, Marc left RCA/BMG, signed to Mercury France/Universal & released his eighth album, self-titled & recorded with a philharmonic orchestra. The album included duets with Cristina Marocco, an Italian singer & actress, Françoise Hardy, a well-known singer, & Claire Keim, an actress.
In 2003, he released the single "Dis-Moi Que L'Amour...", featuring Bambou, from his live album Olympia Deux Mille Trois. The same year, he was the co-star of Marc Esposito's film "Le Cœur Des Hommes".
In 2005, Marc's ninth album L'Heure D'Été came out. Recorded at London's Abbey Road studio, Paris' Gang studio & Suresnes' Guillaume Tell studio, it included the singles "Je Me Sens Si Seul", "Toi Mon Amour" & "J'Espère", a duet with Vietnamese Quynh Anh. Early 2006, he was the star of Marc Esposito's second film "Toute La Beauté Du Monde". In 2007, he released his 2 Best Of Les Duos De Marc & Les Solos De Marc, both certified gold. He also played in 2 films, like Marc Esposito's "Le Cœur Des Hommes 2".

Volume 10
In 2009, Marc released his tenth album Volume 10, recorded at Los Angeles' Sunset Sound studio & composed by Fabrice Aboulker, Bertrand Burgalat & Christophe Casanave. It included 2 duets : "La Grande Amour" with Valérie Lemercier & "Lentement" with his daughter Yasmine Lavoine. The singles from the album were "La Semaine Prochaine", "Reviens Mon Amour", "Rue Des Acacias" & "Demande-Moi". In 2009 & 2010, he played in 3 films. In December 2011, he signed to Barclay. In 2012, his eleventh album Je Descends Du Singe came out, all the tracks have been written by Marc & composed by Christophe Casanave.

In 2015, Marc released his first novel, based on his father, L'Homme Qui Ment. The following year, he performed a vocal trio with Cœur De Pirate and Arthur H for the musical Les Souliers Rouges, based on Hans Christian Andersen's novel.
