You're the son of his majesty
Remember how it used to be In the light of day it's easy to see Now it's nighttime You had to leave *You got Separated from the king Now the water's rushing and you keep trying to swim against the streams* * it seems, like your not moving the many water's gushing you gasp for air Almost drowning ears ringing, once upon a time we were singing One day *those trees will stand and clap hands Stream of thought getting caught in the klipa, this place is just a shell, external Egos swell, that one'll burn ya, we fell a long way down, that eternal frown'll get you You look vexed it's the dregs, the yetzer hara's lurking Trying to make *us forget we got a job to do your a priest and a prince and you can't be moved, *a priest and a prince and you can't be Chorus: You're a warrior, Fighting for your soul Taken from a world above, and brought down to *this world below Re-unite them, re-unite them return the princess to the king, Re-unite them, re-united, she's been taken for so long Re-unite them, re-unite *them and then she'll be filled with joy Re-unite them , re-unite *them like the days of her youth Descended to this pit What's this feeling can't get rid of it I'm so sick I Can't seem to shake it When one retires at night weeping, joy will come in the morning You made my mountain stand strong Chorus Chorus: You're a warrior, Fighting for your soul Taken from a world above, and brought down to *this world below Say like an ancient memory Remember how it used to be Close your eyes and breath in * the scent of freedom Ringing across the sea Land of milk and honey One day will wake up from this dream and we'll stop sleeping Oh, yo, then we'll see clearly Chorus Chorus: You're a warrior, Fighting for your soul Taken from a heavens above, and brought down to *this world below |

4 posts | I agree with muman! Go to matismusic.com to see Matisyahu's bio. He is now an orthodox jewish guy who believes in the Messiah as with accordance to the way Orthodox Jews believe it to be. |

1 posts | To the previous poster. I seriously doubt Matisyahu believes in your 'messiah'. Because he is a Chasidic Jew he believes in the message of the Torah, or to you the 'Old Testament'. The prophets tell of the coming of Moshiach, and many of Matisyahu's songs contain the refrain "We want Moshiach, We want Moshiach now!". This is a traditional Chasidic Chant. We, as Jews are anxiously awaiting the coming of the promised Annointed One. The Moshiach is not Jesus, or Yehu as you mentioned. The coming of the Moshiach will bring an era of peace, and the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem {both of which didn't happen during Christs lifetime}.
Most of Matisyahus lyrics are taken straight from the Psalms of David... David was most certainly not a believer in Yeshua.. It is true that the Moshiach will be a descendent of King David... Israel and Hashem have a relationship. The seperation of the king from his princess is a common thread through Matisyahus songs, and through many psalms and prophecies. If you are interested in the religion behind Matisyahu's works, research the Torah at sites such as www.aish.com or www.torah.org and for more info try www.chabad.org. These sites will fill your spirit with the love of Torah, the one true word of the Lord. Michael |

2 posts | This song really, really makes me think that it's about Yeshua. I don't know of any other Rebbi that has come to earth and had to leave or that was separated from the "king" which I feel in my heart that the "king" represents G-d. Many Jews are open and secret believers of Yeshua....and they still practice their Jewish traditions...might Matisyahu be a secret believer? U never know. This song makes me search deeper. |
