AboutMel Parsons (born 21 October 1981) is a New Zealand indie-folk singer-songwriter from Westport. She independently released her debut album "Over My Shoulder" in 2009 which was a finalist in the New Zealand Music Awards for Folk Album of the Year. Following the success of her debut, Parsons released her sophomore album "Red Grey Blue" in September 2011, which achieved wide critical acclaim in New Zealand.
