 MelanieC.net are pleased to announce that Melanie’s next UK single will be released on March 26th. Entitled “I Want Candy” and produced by Stephen Hague, it is an infectious reworking of the Strangeloves track, also recorded by Bow Wow Wow, among others.
Melanie was asked to record it as the title track for an exciting new British comedy of the same name to be released in cinemas on April 6th. It follows two naive young men who stumble upon the opportunity of a lifetime. Frustrated by their arty film teacher (Mackenzie Crook), wannabe producer Joe (Tom Riley) and his talented but neurotic director friend Baggy (Tom Burke) head to London to sell what they know is a script made of gold. Encountering nothing but closed doors, their luck changes when an equally desperate producer (Eddie Marsan) is willing to throw some money at them provided they nab the star he needs.
There’s just one problem, the star is porn legend Candy Fiveways (Carmen Electra). Against all odds, they manage to secure her services, but it’s not long before trouble heads their way.
But the exciting news doesn’t end there! Melanie’s next single in Germany, Austria and Switzerland will be called “The Moment You Believe” and will be released on March 16th. Written with and produced by Peter Vettese, it is an epic love song with a reliably strong vocal from Melanie. It has already been received well in Germany, and has been confirmed as the soundbed for the spring advertising campaign for TV show “Nur die Liebe sahlt”. |
