 The young Mélissa M., discovered on "Taxi 4" soundtrack, moves singles charts ! Her single "Elle" comes directly N°1.
With 9,542 singles sold, the young Mélissa M. comes N°1 in French singles charts, one week after the release. A record that is also the worst week with sales... Either singles or LPs, sales melt like snow... "Elle" is the French version of Stevie Wonder's "Part-Time Lover". Mélissa was revealed last year by "Taxi 4" soundtrack and the song "Avec Tout Mon Amour". Her second solo single seems to be good. Behind, Koxie is N°2 with 8,559 singles sold for her single "Garçon" (it stayed 7 weeks on top this year). N°3 is Sean Kingston with "Beautiful Girls" (8,012). Maybe he's going to be N°1 ? Christophe Willem is still N°4 with the excellent "Jacques A Dit" (6,829). And for Ora Maté, it's getting worse : former N°1 is currently N°5 with the official hymn of Rugby World Cup (this explaining that). "Kamaté" sold 6,668 singles.
Second best newcomer is David Guetta with "Baby When The Light", N°6 with 5,861 singles sold, and the worst newcomer is Tony Parker with "Premier Love", N°67 and only 160 singles sold.
Status quo for the albums sales, James Blunt is still N°1 with All The Lost Souls & 10,204 albums sold, and Vanessa Paradis is N°2 again with Divinidylle & 8,170 CDs sold, hope she'll be N°1 again because of her tour. N°3 is Manu Chao with La Radiolina & 8,153 albums. Christophe Maé went 2 places up and is currently N°4 with Mon Paradis, including the new single "Ca Fait Mal", and 7,939 CDs. Katie Melua is N°5 with the magnificent Pictures (6,893) and lost one place. Best newcomer is Asa, N°15 with her album "(Asha)" (3,940).
