How could he know this new dawn's light
Would change his life forever
Set sail to sea but pulled off course
By the light of golden treasure
Was he the one causing pain
With his careless dreaming
Been afraid
Always afraid
Of the things he's feeling
He could just be gone
He would just sail on
He would just sail on
How can I be lost
If I've got nowhere to go
Searched the seas of gold
How come it's got so cold
How can I be lost
In remembrance I relive
How can I blame you
When it's me I can't forgive
These days drift on inside a fog
It's thick and suffocating
This seeking life outside its hell
Inside intoxicating
He's run aground
Like his life
Water's much too shallow
Slipping fast
Down with the ship
Fading in the shadows now
A castaway
Blame
All gone
Away
Blame gone away
How can I be lost
If I've got nowhere to go
Search for seas of gold
How come it's got so cold
How can I be lost
In remembrance I relive
And how can I blame you
When it's me I can't forgive
Forgive me
Forgive me not
Forgive me
Forgive me not
Forgive me
Forgive me not
Forgive me
Forgive me, why can't I forgive me
Set sail to sea but pulled off course
By the light of golden treasure
How could he know this new dawn's light
Would change his life forever
How can I be lost
If I've got nowhere to go
Search for seas of gold
How come it's got so cold
How can I be lost
In remembrance I relive
So how can I blame you
When it's me I can't forgive

vocal I was so surprised with their new album. It is tons better than St. Anger, Load & Reload. But not quite as good as their first 5. This is one of my favorites from the album, as it is similar to the first two Unforgivens, which are amazing songs themselves. I recommend a listen for this one, its a great song

vocal The first time I heard it, I was dissappointed. But, in retrospect, I realize that I was not so much dissappointed as stunned - I had been expecting a song formatted exactly like the first two Unforgivens, so this caught me off guard. But the more I listen, the more I love. On close examination, I find that the song is practically flawless. I love it. I do, I think, prefer its two prequels, but the song is still wonderful to me. "How can I blame you when it's me I can't forgive?" Lovely.

vocal i was never a really big fan of the first two and this one was not as near as good as them or even the best song on the album

vocal This song is showing you pain and self hatred, pure genius. The other two were about someone else being Unforgiven, but now it's flipped so that James can't forgive himself (since he writes all the lyrics). This song is one of the best things I have heard from them in a while.

vocal I think is best than Unforgiven 2, that was just too like the first one, but I think is nothing compared to other Metallica songs...I love the lyrics in this song, that's for sure, cuz I can relate to them

vocal A totally awesome song. They should have made this one of their singles by now. It caught me by surprise that it wasn't like the other Unforgivens, but I actually like the metaphors Hetfield uses and the guitar solo on this kicks major ass.
