MONTY GUY, NARAS note Donna Summer, Chuck Brown

Monty Guy Giants, Legends, Pioneers, and remarkably talented music artform celebrities are passing before our very eyes. Yet their sparkle, their glitter, their coruscating personas will remain bright in our minds eye. The lustre of their music will remain undiminshed;...and thank goodness for the continuing presence of outstanding sound engineers.

Five-time GRAMMY® winner Donna Summer had a dynamic voice and unique musical style that helped define the dance music genre in the '70s. She also was an artist who crossed many musical genres, as evidenced by her GRAMMY wins in the R&B, rock, inspirational and dance categories. Her talent was a true gift to the music industry, wrote Neil Portnow, President/CEO, on behalf of The Recording Academy.
News from NARAS, The Recording Academy.

Yesterday, Chuck Brown departed the set; today the magnificent Donna Summer departed the stage. For all those who missed the taste, tempo, and spectacle of Disco fashions and parties, all I can say is "Beep Beep, Toot Toot...wish you were there to get some...what a fantastic scene"!
