| Mumford and Sons have embarked on a six-date tour of India.
As first reported by NME.COM, they are set to play venues across the country with Laura Marling and record with local folk musicians.
"I think it's going be just one massive experiment," explained the band's Ben Lovett. "I've heard a rumour that they're going to be a couple of thousand [capacity] – in big eating houses where everyone goes out and they all eat and they get entertained."
The group are set to record with local band Indian Ocean, who Lovett said sound like "an Indian Fleet Foxes".
"It's a right mixture between complete fear and excitement," added Lovett of the trip. "We're not going to be able to rely on anything that we know to be normal – there aren't going to be standard Western procedures about things."
As previously reported, the band are set to play a New Year's Eve show in London, as well as recently announcing an extensive UK tour in March.
