It doesn't sound "weird" in a cool way though, it just sounds stupid. It's sounds like a song from a broadway soap opera by "wannabee weird" third graders. By far the worst part of this song is the vocals. You really don't hear Gerard's real voice, which is clear and amazingly shown in the first two albums. Also, the way it is presented and played clearly makes them seem like a self-obsessed band that's desparately trying to be liked by a nonexistant crowd of people. |

 411 posts | rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal i really really love this song. it is probably my favorite on this album. but this CD i just feel like they are just making music now rather than helping people. but yeah this song would be a frickin awesome video if tim burton directed it. and if they made clay MCR figures. hahaha maybe not. but i love the part in the middle where he goes "2-3-4" and the music gets a different beat it is SO awesome. this song rocks! so does MCR! and this isnt their best song EVER. i think cemetery drive is, but this one is right up there. haha. yeah i do get the whole animated-tim burton-movie feel from this song. i love it. 333333 YAY! MCR is my favorite band of all time. they've always had great music, but out of all of their many songs, i love this one the most. the rest of the songs on the cd are great too though! I LOVE MCR!! |

The first time I heard this, I was basically like, "Wtf is this crap?" But after I listened to it for a while, I really got to like it. Especially the mallets during some of the verses and the way it changes tracks after she says "I'd maybe then sing you a song." Not one of my favorites, but it's close! |

Better yet, it's one of my favorite songs on this album... if its humanly possible to pick a favorite off of this album. Love all the different songs and the lyrics. Actually I think this is my favorite song from the new album, but that's just me of curse. Uhm, in reply to reaction (1): I realy loved your analasys of the song. Although it's not a poet I'd like to hear a more specific analasys as in - focus on the words, the lining, the chose of "using" Liza Minelli instead of Gerard's voice "(except for being cool) and furthermore... Then again I know this is "just" a song and not a poet, and 99% that when they wrote the song they didn't think of anything you're going to say (if you have any intentions of replying me that is..) but still I realy am curious to hear (well more like see..) more... This is where the Great War comes into play, perhaps explaining the loss of his father, and why he has become bitter towards more than a few people. Then again, we could always have another Phineas Gage on our hands. The mother is willing to forgive him, but the tumultuous relationship is beyond repair. Especially is she knew the truth about what he has done. |
