AboutNancy Holloway (real name Nancy Brown) was an American actress and singer, born on December 11, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio and dead on August 28, 2019 in Paris, France. At 16, she married a man by the name of Holloway. Though the marriage would last just three months, his name would stick with her for the rest of her life.
Nancy became established in Paris in 1954. She performed in jazz clubs of the capital, especially with drummer Kenny Clarke. In June 1959, she had the chance to meet Elvis Presley when a rare permissions in Paris at the Moulin Rouge.
In March 1961, Nancy, with her Rock'n'Rollers under the direction of André Borly, covered with fervor Gene Vincent's "Be Bop A Lula". This record was released on the label PBM.
On May 31, 1961, she's on the agenda of the French TV show Âge Tendre et Tête De Bois with Gilbert Bécaud, Les Chaussettes Noires et Hédika.
At the end of 1962, Nancy signed with the record company Ricordi (France). But Ricordi soon bankrupt and her contract was negotiated with Decca.
Her most successful single was "T'En Va Pas Comme Ca", the French version of Dionne Warwick's "Don't Make Me Over".
In 2007, she participated to the Âge Tendre et Têtes de Bois tour, alongside Richard Anthony, Frank Alamo and Jean-Jacques Debout.
