His third album Year Of The Gentleman, which first single "Closer" has been N°1 in the UK, includes new songs with the singer's voice sounding like Michael Jackson's, including beats between dance & R&B.
Born on October 18, 1982, Shaffer Chimere Smith (Ne-Yo) released his first album In My Own Words in 2006 on Def Jam. N°1 in the States with 300,000 copies sold for the first week, the album went N°20 in France thanks to the hit "So Sick" (N°11 in 2006). Ne-Yo is also a great songwriter, with hits sung by Rihanna ("Unfaithful"), Mario ("Let Me Love You"), Beyonce ("Irreplaceable") & Céline Dion, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, Leona Lewis... His second album Because Of You didn't get successful in France (N°175 in 2007) but sold 2 million copies worldwide. Then, Ne-Yo was back on top with his featuring on Rihanna's hit "Hate That I Love You" (N°16 in January).
