Neil Young and his long-time band, Crazy Horse, are set to release an album entitled 'Toast', the latest in the singer-songwriter's extensive Archives series.
The album will be comprised of tracks recorded in 2000 in a San Fransisco studio that shares the album's name, with producer John Hanlon.
A statement on Neilyoung.com explains that Hanlon is currently mixing the material that was recorded.
The statement describes the songs as "bluesy" and "jazz-tinged", with "three solid rockers interspersed in the mix".
"Other songs are long with extensive explorations between verses," the statement continues. "Kind of like a down-played 'Tonight's The Night', except these songs deal directly with love and loss, not drugs. The ambient atmosphere, foggy, blue and desolate, pervades many of the tracks, if not all." |
