99 Luftballons on Arte

 For some weeks, for the campaign "Summer Of The 80's", Arte airs Nena's new video, "99 Luftballons", re-recorded with a chorus in French ! Her new album will come out soon.
In the campaign "Summer Of The 80's", the French-German channel Arte airs the video of German singer Nena, "99 Luftballons", in a new version, directed by Philippe Rouget. She re-recorded her famous 80's hit for the TV channel, with electro/rock arrangements.

Following this, the singer will release her new album Made In Germany on October 2, including the first single "Wir Sind Wahr".
A rock icon of the early 80's, German singer Gabrielle Susanne Kerner aka Nena was born on March 24, 1960 in Breckerfeld, Germany. Her first N°1 hit (N°2 in the United States) has been "99 Luftballons" in 1983, a hit who made the generation dance. 99 pacific balloons flew in the sky who, mistaken for an enemy attack, start a war. Nena, still popular in her country, came back in German charts in 2003 with her album, including her re-arranged hits : Nena feat. Nena 20 Jahre : Das Jubiläum-Album. "99 Luftballons" was there again, same case for the follow-up "Irgendwie, Irgendwo, Irgendwann" (Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime) re-recorded with Kim Wilde. In 2005, "Liebe Ist", theme song from the TV series "Verliebt In Berlin", has been N°1 in German charts.
