| Well, I think this song is more about a love hurt which triggers a suicide at the end, of a young boy... Yes very romantic indeed  . DBP is a good song, with very emotional lyrics which fit perfectly, which triggers (with me) a lot of emotions, and toughts... But romantic? Not in this lifetime it's not! |

This is a lovely song.
It's a personal song by/about Tuomas. He's the Dead Boy. It's like the story of his life. I believe it's him saying his thank yous and sorrys to those he cares for.
Not about a child committing suicide |

There are so many people whom I should thank, so many I should apologize to but haven't apologized. So many people I should tell to go fuck themselves but haven't had the guts to do so far. I just had to write a song for them. It might be that Dead Boy's Poem is the best song we ever wrote."
Gotta love the guy. Still, I can really see the other thing with the suicide in here. Maybe it wasn't what they originally intended, but there are so many songs that work out that way.
And do I really have to say that I love it?? |

Ah amazing song! I love how it finishes with Tarja singing "a lonely soul...an ocean soul".
It's really sad too. I still don't have the Wishmaster album, I need to get it; I have all the others. I heard this off the Highest Hopes cd. |

They're all basically about him... Tuomas writes about himself, most of the time. And about things he experiences or feels...
Like "Wish I had an Angel" is about a bar or something like that, Ive heard.
This one, and the bonus track on Dark Passion Play "The Escapist" are one of my fav songs...
But this one just sends chills down my spine, the way he writes, and the way he uses the words... |
