Oh, I love this song so much.  God, I never get sick of it. Love the lyrics, and the song itself has a kind of own thing about it.
But you got to listen to Johnny Cash with this song too. His voice and this song.  You gotta love it.. |

i love this song. its incredibly haunting, you can tell trent really wasnt in a great place when he did this song. there isnt a nin song that really lets you in, as far as seeing the real trent i think, and although people who don't know him can't assume they do, i do think this song is a real insight
the johnny cash cover is also amazing. its a song you cant sing without it meaning something incredibly profound |

| NIN's was the original...johnny cash covered it...all of his later albums contained contemporary covers of modernish songs
back on topic, great tune, whether song by Trent or the man in black...its still a great tune...i guess the appeal of Johnny's is be cause he sang this song with cleaner music and he was already in the twilight of his life and his wife just died, so johnny cash's situation just fit the lyrics so well
still...great song no matter how you slice it |

This song has something in it that I can't discribe. It's so overfilled with sadness and lonelyness and other feelings which feed in together so so so so so so good. It's just kind of perfect... It just brings over the way I often feel.
I know this song from my boyfriend, Felix, who sang it to me as we were alone for the first time. He was so broken..... I started to cry because of his situation. He just sat down next to me and whispered/sang the song from the beginning in my ear. It was the only time in my life I saw his tears. And I love him so much... I sweared myself to do everything he wants or needs to make him feel better. I want to save him. He does the same for me and so we both feel not alone and the pain is not as bad as before. We're both singers in the same group and it's the best thing ever to love him and to hear him singing and to see him dancing. I still always see him crying, but only inside. I know it's even worth, but with everyday he spends with me it's getting less and less...
