FIRST i better start off by saying I AM NOT A NIRVANA BUFF/FAN/OBSESSED MANIAC. I just like their music. my interpretation of the song is MOOD SWINGS, as in manic depression, because Lithium is a drug for it, and the almost every line is a morose statement followed by a pick up e.g i'm so ugly - but thats okay. i don't know if any one else has said this already because i cba reading 66 POSTS ALL SAYING THE SAME THING but I wouldn't mind a relpy AGREE OR DISAGREE. O AND I HEART THIS SONG. hahaha. |

This is definitely one of nirvana songs that has the greatest meaning for me... these lyrics are a fucking hymn... great to hear when you're lonely, when you feel missunderstood... i agree when people say it's ironic: it is; i love that kurt cobain was a genious.. we're gonna worship him for all time nirvana represents all teenagers alive, at least those who know better; lithium it's an irrefutable proof PORTUGAL RULEZZZ m(*.*)m =)) |

10 posts | If you do want to go into and read up a little on Cobain I recommend the book Love & Death. Unlike Heavier than Heaven, Courtney Love is not involved in any way shape or form. It really goes in depth into his past and the few days leading up to his death and gives physical evidence, not just "he had no reason to kill himself," of the possibility of murder. for example, the amount of heroin in Cobain's blood was so high it would have been physically impossible for him to remove the syringe from his arm let alone it back in its box. Just something to think about.
Also for whoever was referring to Nirvana's last album as a farewell (in a sense) it probably was because Nirvana was in the process of breaking up when Cobain died. as terrifying and depressing that fact is, it is a fact. But Nirvana is one of my favorite bands and I do think Cobain was an amazing lyricist. his passion in his music is contagious. absolutely brilliant. love it, love it, love it. Okay this was a lot longer than I intended it to be, but look into that book. its really interesting. |
