| It wasn't just a stomach ache. He actually had them very frequently and it was very painful. Doctors never found out what was wrong with him or why they occured. Thats one of the reasons he started to use heroin.

The song is about abortion and stomach pain, either way, it's dark. Still some people are going "I love kurt" "I love this song" and crap.
What has happened to the sane people of the world????

Okay...to be honest, i found this song extremely amusing. He's singing about pain but it sounds like he's laughing about it...almost like it's so painful that he doesn't care anymore.
I kind of disagree about it being about abortion because formost, it's a guy singing. Get it???? But then it could be a secondary meaning, you know? |

| Pennyroyal is a plant is a member of the mint family (peppermint, spearmint, etc) and has been used throughout history for a bunch of medical purposes including abortions. One of it's other uses is to help stomach indigestion and pain. If you take too much i can be fatal, however. Kurt was known to drink Pennyroyal Tea for his constant stomach pains. It could both help him and kill him. I figure the song is about him realizing that and not caring--Either way the pain is gone... |
