| The band causes hysteria everywhere it goes. But are the 5 boys unique ? No ! An American band said that their name has been found in 2009 & aren't going to stop here. A trial has been started against Niall Horan & his friends. A "Direction" affair that makes them lose their minds !|
The label Syco (Sony Music), founded by "American Idol", "Britain's Got Talent" & "X-Factor" jury member Simon Cowell, is currently part of a trial in the United States. One Direction, the "next genial band" according to Paul McCartney, is sued because an American band already has this name...
The UK band recently went on tour to the United States & Canada, to promote their album Up All Night. The Americans saw them live on television in "Saturday Night Live". This overwhelming didn't touch the American band, that uses the same name. They decided to sue Liam Payne & his friends.
"Instead of changing their names or preventing from suing us, they only went on tour" Peter Ross, the lawyer of the American band, said. The man wants the "Gotta Be You" singers to pay 1 million $. "We've been negotiating since last month to find a solution. As we can see it, negotiations haven't been very productive" Ross added.

The American One Direction - who pretend they found the name in 2009 - consists of 5 members too. They haven't signed to a record company yet but an album, The Light, is available on iTunes. Neither Syco nor Sony Music commented about the subject.
