Patricia Kaas - Biography

Patricia Kaas was born on December 5, 1966 in Forbach, France. Her mother was German & her father was French. At 8, she started singing in piano-bars with songs from many artists : Sylvie Vartan, Claude François, Mireille Mathieu & Liza Minnelli. In balls & family parties, Patricia started her musical career & recorded her first single "Jalouse" in 1985, not successful but opening the doors of success.
In 1987, she met Didier Barbelivien, who composed the song "Mademoiselle Chante Le Blues". The single was a success & so was Patricia's first album. She went on tour in France & in Europe, where she was considered as "the new Édith Piaf". Her albums were sold by hundred thousands & she received many Victoires De La Musique. Surrounded by famous composers Jean-Jacques Goldman & Pascal Obispo, she started her acting career in 2001 in Claude Lelouch's film "And Now Ladies And Gentlemen", she also recorded the soundtrack Piano Bar. In 2003, she released the album Sexe Fort and went on tour, still taking her place in French music. In 2008, she started her worldwide tour & released her album Kabaret. |
