Patrick Bruel Since March 20, 2006, Patrick Bruel hasn't released any studio album. He's working hard to put the final touch to the follow-up. "I've been late for more than one year" he said to Claude Askolovitch.

"Le Figaro" reveals Patrick Bruel's interview with Claude Askolovitch. In the book, the actor & singer talks about many subjects, like his new album.

"It's the first time that I've found it difficult. I've been late for more than one year, it's too much. It doesn't change my serenity" the singer said. Since 2006, he hasn't released any studio recording after Des Souvenirs Devant..., that included the single "J'M'Attendais Pas À Toi". His fans are tired of waiting...

In the book, the journalist asked him if he had regrets. "I do so many things that I don't have any time for regrets. But sometimes, I feel like I didn't do anything I could. An actor should play in more films & a singer should release more albums. Doing both, even if it's a dream, puts me on the spot sometimes... In cinema, I haven't done the tenth that I could. There are so many film directors I wish I've worked with..."

He also talked about politics : "My sensitiveness has been left-winged but being left-winged today is very complicated. Or sad. It doesn't mean anything anymore..." he added.

Claude Askolovitch also asked the singer's real name. His real last name is not Bruel but Benguigui. Also, his real first name is Patrick & not Maurice, as we could have read it.
"You changed your name, even your first name.
- I didn't !
- You were Maurice Benguigui & you became Patrick Bruel.
- Bruel is my stage name, I found it thanks to my uncle, I don't remember how, before "Le Coup De Sirocco" ! Then, it became my official last name. In 2003, I've spent more time as Bruel than as Benguigui, so I've asked a change name before I became a father... But for Maurice, I'm sorry ! I've never been Maurice Benguigui. My first name is still Patrick...
