I was [I'm slightly embarrassed to admit] completely shocked at how good this was in the film. I've always loved the Sarah Brightman/Michael Crawford pairoff (yes, I'm oldschool like that), but this was amazing. Gerard Butler's voice isn't that profound that often... so finding that hope that with some work, he could eventually sound as amazing as Michael Crawford in this song was great. And it's a song that happens early in the movie, so it's important that it sounds good.  |
