| Their older stuff, was indeed their best, Sleeping With Ghosts just really not as good as,say, Black Market Music
that is one of the best songs of their career, though | 0 @ 02-05-2004 11:34 HappyJunkie | 50 posts
| i think they've gained new fans with the new lp but the older ones don't like it as much.. i still think that the album is really good and has fab songs on it | 0 @ 02-05-2004 12:17 RandomWeirdo | 563 posts

| i think that song is amazing but i prefer this picture. i'm surprised with that shit that placebo is pop band. they are out their minds! still here in croatia most people haven't heard about placebo. here in dubrovnik they listen mostly commercial music... | 0 @ 20-06-2004 07:54 eren_eren | 7 posts
| does all the great songs like this have to be lost in the music world? greaatt!!! | 0 @ 07-10-2004 04:09 biana | 1 posts
| i'll never get this "i hate when my so called underground artist" gets famous. specially talking about placebo, that got famous with "without you i'm nothing" - and this is probably what most ppl call "their oldest stuff".
getting famous, it changes a band, it changes it's music and that's what fans should "worry" about, not the fact that "oh, now everybody knows it".
and yep, special need is a cute song. with a cute video. | 0 @ 07-10-2004 11:09 HappyJunkie | 50 posts

A band usually gets famous because it's a good one. I think that Placebo's highest peak was in the WYIN era. Nowadays they don't get so much attention. But what do you care about a band's popularity if you really like their music.
But well, I too think it's irretating (sp) when even the geekest ppl like your fav band but I don't let it bother much.
So lets just all enjoy placebo even how famous or infamous they were. | 0 @ 27-10-2004 06:45 Carlz89 | 190 posts

This song is my favourite on the album, it's so beautiful I just LOVE it. The film clip is so well done, I've only seen it once unfortunatley. I can't describe how much I love this song!
I could seriously put it on repeat forever... | 0 @ 27-10-2004 06:52 the_BurnInAtOR | 3,204 posts
| Ugh, some people are pretty dumb.
Anyone who judges music on its popularity/obscurity should be shot, and shot again.
Judge music on music. If people start listening to a song more, does the song change? Negatory. So stop being a lameass. Just because a band gets popular... Its not like the data and magnets on your old tapes/cd's are gonna shift around and become crappy music. Such a ridiculous Ideal, this whole obscurity obsession... | 0 @ 29-10-2004 04:17 AudioDrive | 328 posts
| the idea comes from this statement
if an artist gets popular its because he is getting a massive promotion, money makes promotion
now, music stop being art and it starts being an awful business, managed by filthy corporate pigs
interest is lost, that is why the singles collection Once More With Feeling is coming out, they want your money
it is up to you, and my idea will hang in the air

Im from mexico too, and I think as the other guy.
We must judge music on music.
I won't care if they label it as pop music, I will stop hearing it when I stop liking it.
I really, really thinks it's stupid to stop hearing any artist you really like because everyone else is starting to hear it. thats being a nutshell in grandaddys arm... oh, no sorry.
I know the music can change once a band gets recognized and heared more than the usual. But the world is not going to end, there are lots of bands who play great music out there. | 0 @ 21-11-2004 03:09 AudioDrive | 328 posts
