Interesting piece of trivia: the girl in the song dies half way through.
I love this song so much. So sad about poor kirsty. Strange that she was the first to go of all of them.

The festive season
Trying to wrap up the presents. Trying to get the last minute stuff prepared. You’re at your wits end. You’re starting to get a different attitude towards Christmas. Now it’s like a funeral to you. It’s full of gloom and horridness like Scrooge from a Christmas Carol.

You’re trying to calm down over excited kids. You’re constantly tired and wish that Christmas was a lot less commercialised. All you want to do is curl up and go to sleep but you can’t cos you’ve got loads of stuff to do. The so called experts say that if you don’t get your kids this and that for Christmas then you’re not a good parent. That’s the joy of Christmas.

With all this commercialisation of Christmas we seem to forget what Christmas is about. It’s about families being together and Christ’s birthday. I know there’s all the wrapping up presents, preparing and most of all arguments. But hey that’s the sheer joy of the festive season.
At the Christmas dinner table there are lots of arguments. You want to scream and lose your rag but you have to stay calm. After the Christmas dinner you’ve got drunken aunties, uncles, grannies, granddad’s and parents. Then there is the playing of boring games such as ‘charades’ and ‘Who wants to be a millionaire?’

At this time of year we seem to forget what the true meaning of Christmas is. There is too much commercialisation with Christmas nowadays. We have to think about the people who can’t celebrate Christmas cos of suffering and illness. There are people like doctors, nurses, firemen and gas board men who give up their Christmas just for us. Just think yourself lucky that you’ve got a family.

Santa must on a lot of weight with eating 10 billion biscuits on Christmas Eve. He must taken credit of cos he’s got a bloody lot of present to deliver.

Merry Christmas everybody. Just remember to think about the joys and downsides of Christmas. But overall enjoy yourselves. Don’t get drunk too much. That’s the joy of the festive season.
