Queens of the Stone Age was formed in Palm Desert, California in 1997 under the name Gamma Ray by guitarist Josh Homme and drummer Alfredo Hernandez.
Since Queens of the Stone Age's second album Rated R, all albums have been released by Interscope Records. Their 1998 self-titled debut album was released on Loose Groove. |

| I love QOTSA. They're quickly becoming my favourite band (equal with Incubus of course). The best songs are on Rated R (i.e. Into the Fade, Quick and To The Pointless...), but the best album overall is Lullibies to Paralyze. Not a single song I don't love on there. Wicked. |
