Rumored new album tracklisting

In July 2006, Homme confirmed that "we're back in the studio, writing", but when asked who's in the band this time around he said "That's not a healthy question. You'll ruin the surprise. We've gotta keep our cool." [8]

On November 4th, in a Ask The Band video feature on the official website, Josh Homme described the new record as "dark, hard, and electrical, sort of like a construction worker". [9]

In mid-December, a rumour started circulating on a St. Louis Radio Station forum that the new QOTSA album would be titled 'Bound to Midnight'. A tracklist for the album soon surfaced soon afterwards with added notes on the songs by one of the station's DJ who claimed to have recieved an e-mail from an intern at Interscope who had heard the album when the final mix was brought in.

1. The Flood (Epic opener in vein of Song for the Dead and Someone's in the Wolf)
2. Get Together (First single. Very sexy Queens rock)
3. Red Rose, Black Dirt (A dark marching song, similar to Fun Machine)
4. Into the Sea (A very bluesy ballad featuring backup female vocals)
5. Insomniac (Oliveri-esque song with Josh singing)
6. Making a Cross (DS remake, Alain still singing)
7. Whatever Will you Do? (A throwback to 50's pop, Josh is in Elvis mode)
8. The Lowdown (70's funk with a robot rock twist, Regular John's successor)
9. Walls of the Empire (Pounding drums drive this tribal sludge of a song. Intense is the only word to describe it.)
10. Stitches (Catchy pop with grim, disturbing lyrics. What's not to like?)
11. The Butcher (The tipping point, a massive grueling rock freakout bordering on 10 minutes. Think Song for the Deaf on acid.)
12. 'Til Tomorrow (The quiet after the storm that is The Butcher and a sweet conclusion to a relatively harsh album.)
