Song lyrics
Rows of houses all bearing down on me
I can feel their blue hands touching me
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out

This machine will not communicate
These thoughts and the strain I am under
Be a world child, form a circle
Before we all go under
And fade out again and fade out again

Cracked eggs, dead birds
Scream as they fight for life
I can feel death, can see it's beady eyes
All these things into position
All these things we'll one day swallow whole
And fade out again and fade out again

Immerse your soul in love
Immerse your soul in love.

yay, this song is amazing.
I love, love, love it soooo much, it's great!!!

I am so bad with words, but really, if I could, I'd sit all night talking about how beautiful this song it.

Thom's voice sounds so great in this one, and he sings with so much emotion (he always does).
The lyrics are great as well, and I like that guitar in it... I dunno, it makes the song even better...

Thom's voice sounds so great in this one, and he sings with so much emotion (he always does).

Outstanding song. Probobly one of my favorite melodies of all time.

The tuning in this song is making me angry though... they're... like... half a half a step flat. Makes figurin out the guitaring quite a hassle... thanks guys...

World would be a less hopeful and beautiful place without this song. Radiohead is one of few lucky bands with unlimited potentials, a band without any limits and they`ll keep on soaring. Isn`t this great?

My favourite Radiohead song by far, so simple & yet so effective. The melody & vocals are so haunting.

i read somewhere that thom yorke claims this song wrote itself and that theres nothing in it that is upbeat, he described it as a lightless tunnel and that he has to detatch himself emotionally from the song when he sings it because its such an emotional song and he would break down on stage if he didnt.
of course thom yorke wrote it, but everyone knows how philisophical he is. but i spoze only he would konw the depth and meaning of this song...
we can appreciate it for its striking lyrics and flawless vocals but i wont think of it the same ever since thom yorke said somewhere that playing this song to a cheering crowd is like watching your pet dog blissfully wagging its tail, totally oblivious to the fact that its going to be put down... this is one deep, dark song peoples. dont underestimate it...

I must agree with this... Just listening to this song makes me wanna cry... At 20 years old I can break down listening to a song... The lyrics aren't straight forward and you just really have to hear Thom in order to understand what is going on...

As for the music video... Words can not describe...
