Rakim November 6, 2010- Congratulations to Eric B. and Rakim who are being inducted into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame on Nov. 16th at Oheka Castle in Huntington, NY. They are joining an impressive list of previous hip-hop stars like RUN DMC, Public Enemy and LL Cool J, as well as other Long Island music legends like Billy Joel, Joan Jett, Neil Diamond, Louis Armstrong and John Coltrane. The Long Island Music Hall of Fame recognizes the enormous contributions that Queens DJ, Eric B., and Wyandanch rapper, Rakim, have made to the music industry. LIMHOF Vice Chairman, Tom Needham, said," Eric B. and Rakim's masterpiece album,Paid in Full, was ahead of its time in its use of samples and lyrical rhyming. The album still sounds fresh today, and it is the blueprint for hip hop artists around the world." Fans are excited that the Induction Gala marks the first time that Eric B. and Rakim will appear together in public in many years. They will be joining other 2010 Inductees Lou Reed, Eddie Palmieri, Roy Haynes, the Shangri Las, John Zorn, Dream Theater, Al Kooper, Teddy Charles, Oscar Brand and the Magic Garden's Carole and Paula.
