Song lyrics
Darling did you know that I, I dream about you,
Waiting for the look in your eyes when we meet for the first time
And Darling did you know that I, I pray about you,
Praying that you will hold on
Keep your loving eyes only for me

Chorus:
Because I am waiting for, praying for you, Darling
Wait for me too, wait for me as I wait for you
Because I am waiting for, praying for you, Darling
Wait for me too, wait for me as I wait for you
(Darling wait, Darling Wait)

Darling did you know I dream about life together
Knowing you will be forever.
I'll be yours and you'll be mine.
And Darling when I say, "till death do us part",
I'll mean it with all of my heart, now and always faithful to you

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:
Now I know you may have made mistakes,
But there's forgiveness and a second chance.
So wait for me, Darling wait for me, wait for me, wait for me

Repeat Chorus

Wait for me, Darling Wait
Because im waiting for you, Because im waiting for you
So wait for me, Darling wait
Wait for me

I saw her perform on Hannity & Combs two nights ago and I was honestly shocked how poor her performance is. This song is obviously geared for young women who - like all of us - grow up pumped with the notion that the biggest event of our lives will be our romance with that "special one." Problem is, the abstinence thing doesn't guarantee anything - bonds and relationships which are worthwhile need to be built on the basis of mutual respect and love, NOT on a woman's virginity. And lets not play like the line of "second chance and forgiveness" doesn't end up in real life in encouraging these young women fans to "forgive" the fact that most men DON'T wait. (Besides, the reality is that all the abstinence only talk and songs only cause more unprotected sex because ppl never learn about condoms.) This song is flimsy - musically and lyrically it is didadic and literally deadly.

When I first heard this song, I was moved by the thought of acknowledging a future husband or wife- and praying for them to wait, to abstain from sex and the kind of intimacy that should only be shared between a married couple- of course there are so many people who do not wait for marriage before they have sex- that choice is theirs to make, however God tells us that we are to make our bodies holy and santified. Our bodies belong to God! He created us to glorify him, and if we are being sexually impure, is that glorifying him? ... anyway, yes, there are people who have given their virginity away to someone who wasn't their marriage partner- but God can still purify them! ... Spiritually!

This song has a great message. In fact, it inspired me to pray for my future husband. It's a little bit too...I don't know, the tune is just a little too girly for me I guess. Love the message, though.
