AboutChriston Kloosterboer knows what he wants: perform pop / rock songs for a wide audience. He started the band Rigby with five fellow musicians early 2008. All guys with experience and a penchant for the perfect pop song.
Supported by their own management agency, production company and record label they self-released their debut single "Pass You By ', with a homemade clip. The song was played a lot on the radio and so Rigby scored his first hit, leading to the top 25 of the Dutch Top 100. The band was invited to festivals such as City Beat Heat, Uitmarkt and Black Cross, which got them the '3FM Serious Talent' award.
Producer Erwin Musper was so enthusiastic that he offered his help in recording the debut CD. The band traveled to Cincinnati in America, and with Justin Bill Killinger and Michiel Marsman, the finishing touches to the album were made. This brought Rigby bookings subject to Agents After All and signed a record deal with Universal Music, to join the next step.
Rigby released four singles so far, wich got in the Top 50. The last single "One Song" was chosen as the anthem for 3FM's Serious Request benefit. Rigby also made appearances on "De Wereld Draait Door" on Ned.3 in early 2009, wich got them the deal to be the houseband all season.
In the summer of 2009 Rigby played on about 40 large and small festivals, they opened Beatstad 2009, are the house band for the coming season DWDD, support this fall Moke at all major venues during their autumn tour and played at Noorderslag 2010.
Rigby is: Christon Kloosterboer (vocals, piano, songwriting), Lars Starrenburg (bass), Bob Fridzema (Keys), Eelke Mast Trousers (Guitar), Bart Flour Dijk (Drums) and Fredo Wagner (Guitar)
