AboutRobin Sparkles is a stage name of a fictional character named Robin Scherbatsky created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas for the CBS television series 'How I Met Your Mother', portrayed by Canadian actress Cobie Smulders. She was a Canadian dance pop star in Canada in the 90s (the 80s didn't come to Canada 'til like '93) with her song "Let's Go To The Mall". She often toured malls in Canada singing her hit single. The monotonous, tedious touring gave her mixed feelings about stardom.

Robin Sparkles is teen-aged Robin Scherbatsky's alter ego which she used during her time as a Canadian pop star in the 1990's from a Canadian kids' show Space Teens with her best friend back then Jessica Glitter. Her two most well known songs were: Let's Go to the Mall and Sandcastles in the Sand. However, in February 1996, she hit her breaking point and, after obsessing over another Canadian celeb, Paul Shaffer, gave birth to the 90's grunge genre in Canada with her song as P.S. I Love You, performed as Robin Daggers. Her character is based on Alanis Morissette, an actual Canadian pop-star that turned to grunge in the 90's.
