Robin Williams is a Hollywood comedian actor best known improvising for different scenes in movies and TV shows. He's best known for the 1978 TV show "Mork and Mindy" He is also well known in Hollywood movies including "Good Morning Vietnam (1987), Dead Poets Society (1989), Hook (1991) Mrs. Doubtfire (1993), Jumanji (1995), Ferngully: The Last Rainforest (1992), Disneys Aladdin (1992), Aladdin and The King of Thieves (1996) Flubber Remake (1997) What Dreams May Come (1998), Patch Adams (1998), Robots (2005), Happy Feet 1, 2 and Night of the Museum 1, 2, 3. He was also in late night comedy shows

(Robin Williams childhood years)

Robin Willams was born on July 21, 1951 in St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, USA. His mother worked at Christian Science while his father worked for the car company Ford Motor Company's Lincoln-Mercury Division.
During Robin Williams childhood years, he would often tell his mother jokes and he would make her laugh. He also told jokes to his friends to make them laugh.

Robin Williams went to school at Gorton Elementary School and at middle school at Deer Path Junior High School where he would take drama to overcome his shyness and be able to be a funny teenager to his classmates. When he was 12 years old he moved to Detroit Michigan and went to Detroit Country Day School where he was on the school's soccer team and wrestling team, and became class president. When he was 16 he moved to Tiburon, California to finish up his High School years at Redwood High School. He graduated from high school as the funniest student in school.

After Robin Williams was done with High School he went to Claremont Men's College in Claremont, California to study political science but later dropped out to pursue an acting career at College of Marin, a community college in Kentfield, California where he studied theater and was in a play Oliver. James Dunn recognized his talent for improvising and called his wife and told her he was a special actor.

In 1973 Robin went to Juilliard School in New York City where he met John Houseman and met his classmates Christopher Reeve who would later be in Superman 1,2,3,4 movies. William Hurt and Mandy Patinkin who would also be in movies. Christopher Reeve described Robin Williams as a funny man who would wear multi colored clothes and tell jokes and talking fast. Edith Skinner his teacher was surprised by Robin Williams acting and didn't know what to make of it. Later on Robin Williams left Juilliard School and moved to Marin County California to do Stand up comedies. He went to the San Francisco Zoo to entertain people. Later Williams says he found out about "drugs and happiness" and he said "the best brains of my time turned to mud," Later on he was in a TV show called "Laugh-In"

(Drugs, alcohol and health problems)

Robin Williams became involved in Alcohol and drugs during his time as a stand up comedian and told people in his interview how hard it is to do stand up comedies and the peer pressure of taking drugs and alcohol. He also said doing comedies was cheaper than therapy and helped him through his life and struggled to give up drugs and alcohol and struggled with depression. He also had health issues including heart problems. In March 2009, he was hospitalized due to heart problems and he was allowed to live after the surgery. Later on he had Parkinson's disease which led him to kill himself in 2014.

In 1978 he married his first wife Valerie Velardi and they had a son Zak in 1983. Then in 1988 he divorced his first wife Valerie. He later married he married Marsha Garces on April 30, 1989, and had 2 kids Zelda his daughter born in 1989 and Cody born in 1991. Then in 2008 Robin divorced his second wife Marsha. Then in 2011 he married his final third wife Susan Schneider, on October 22, 2011 and they would stay together until Robins death in 2014.

In 1977 Robin Williams was in the NBC comedy show "The Richard Pryor Show" but it got cancelled after a year. Then in 1978 Robin Willams was in the TV show "Happy Days" as an alien which led to the most popular TV show comedy spinoff "Mork and Mindy" from 1978-1982 and he became a popular superstar for American TV audiences that his character Mork was merchandised in posters, coloring books and lunchboxes.

Later on Robin was in 3 HBO comedy specials, Off the Wall (1978), An Evening with Robin Williams (1982) and Robin Williams: Live at the Met (1986). Also in 1986, Williams co-hosted the 58th Academy Awards. The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, and Late Night with David Letterman. David Letterman described him as coming in like a Hurricane and there goes my show business. He was voted 13th on Comedy Central's list "100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time" in 2004.

In 1977 Robin Williams acted in movies including Can I Do It 'Till I Need Glasses? (1977), Popeye (1980), The World According to Garp (1982), Moscow on the Hudson (1984) The Best of Times, Club Paradise, Seize the Day (1986)

It wasn't until 1987 that Robin Williams found success in the Hollywood hit comedy "Good Morning Vietnam" which won him a Golden Globe Award for best performance and was nominated an academy award for best actor. He went on to act in the Hollywood movie Dead Poets Society (1989) which he was nominated for best actor. He was also in The Fisher King (1991) which was a box office success.

Then in 1991 Robin Williams worked for the movie director Steven Spielberg
on the Peter Pan movie "Hook" who played as Peter Pan with Dustin Hoffman as Captain Hook. Even though the movie got mixed reviews, it was a box office success and was nominated many awards. Robin Williams described the role saying he had to lose 25 pounds for the movie.

Then in 1992 Robin Williams was hired by the Disney company for the Disney cartoon "Aladdin" (1992) which he provided the voice for the Genie. He also told the people at the Disney company not to have his Genie character merchandised he said "I'm doing it basically because I want to be part of this animation tradition. I want something for my children. One deal is, I just don't want to sell anything — as in Burger King, as in toys, as in stuff." But later on he fought with the Disney company because they merchandised the Genie anyway and he left the role of the Genie in "Aladdin TV series" and "Return of Jafar" (1994) to Dan Castellaneta. But in 1996 the people at Disney apologized to him and he returned to voice the Genie in "Aladdin and the King of Thieves".

Robin Williams was also in "Toys" in 1992 which flopped at the box office. He was also the voice of Batty in Ferngully: The Last Rainforest. Then in 1993 he would act in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire 1993. where he dresses up like a woman and would put his face in the pie in the movie. The movie was a box office success that a sequel was considered for Mrs. Doubtfire 2 which Robin Williams wasn't excited about and he rejected the script many times and the 2014 death of Robin Williams caused the sequel to be cancelled for good.

He was also in later TV shows including 6 episodes of Sesame Street, Blue's Clues, Friends, Saturday Night Live, SpongeBob SquarePants and many guest appearances.

Robin went on to make many more family films and drama movies including Jumanji (1995) which was a box office success, Jack (1996), Being Human (1994), Hamlet (1996), Disneys Flubber (1997) remake, Good Will Hunting (1997) which won him an academy award for best acting. What Dreams May Come (1998), Patch Adams (1998), Bicentennial Man (1999), A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001), RV (2005). He was also the voice in "Robots" (2005), "Happy Feet" (2005), Happy Feet Two" (2011), "Night at the Museum" 1, 2, 3. License to Wed (2007), Old Dogs (2009), World's Greatest Dad, The Big Wedding (2011) and many other movies.

2014 was the final year for Robin Williams movies including "The Angriest Man in Brooklyn", "A Merry Friggin' Christmas", "Boulevard" and "Absolutely Anything"

On August 11, 2014 Robin Williams killed himself by hanging himself with a belt in his house at Paradise Cay, California. The police were called and they declared Robin Williams dead and said he committed suicide. His wife, Susan Schneider said"I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken." His Daughter Zelda said "World is forever a little darker, less colorful and less full of laughter in his absence" Robin Williams body was later cremated. Fans of Robin Williams and the Hollywood celebrities mourned at his loss and the Disney company honored Robin Williams by airing Aladdin on Disney Channel.

President Barack Obama said of Williams: "He was one of a kind. He arrived in our lives as an alien – but he ended up touching every element of the human spirit."

Today Robin Williams is considered the Greatest comedian of all time. With many fans honoring his work in Hollywood movies and TV shows and he helped pave the way for future comedians.
