Following the success of his album Americana, N°3 in August 2008, Roch Voisine will perform at Paris' Théâtre Mogador, until June 14. Also, the second album of his country covers will be released on August 17 : listen to "That's How I Got To Memphis".
His latest album Americana (N°3 in 2008), very country, covered American standards like "City Of New Orleans" & "Let It Be Me". "It's where I come from, the kind of songs I like. France is more country than it thinks... It's funny because people who didn't like me listen to me now. These years, I was a little lost, singing other artists, even if it was quality" he said to "Le Parisien".
Léa Ivanne, lyricist of the come-back song after a 10-year absence, "Tant Pis" (N°8 in 2004), could be pleased.
The Canadian singer will tour in France, going at Paris' Olympia on October 30 & 31 & he will release his new album on August 17, with new covers like the new single, "That's How I Got To Memphis" (Eddy Mitchell's "Sur La Route De Memphis").
Listen to a short clip of "That's How I Got To Memphis" here.
Joseph Armand Roch Voisine was born on March 26, 1963 in Edmundston, Canada. At 26, his first success was "Hélène" (N°1 during 9 weeks in France) in 1989, followed by other hits, he became a 90's idol like Patrick Bruel.
