| Whereas Daft Punk's new album Random Access Memories comes out today (May 20), the French duet must face a sad news. Romanthony, who featured on the band's "One More Time", released in 2001, died at his home in Austin, Texas. He was 45.|
Sad month of May for the music world. After Teri Moïse's death in a hotel room in Madrid, another American singer has been found dead the same day, on May 7. Romanthony, real name Anthony Wayne Moore, died at his home in Austin, Texas, at 45 years old. His sister confirmed the sad news on Facebook but didn't reveal the cause of his death. His friends Boys Noize & MikeQ paid tribute to him.
Among the musicians who are mourning, let's talk about Daft Punk. Whereas the band is currently N°1 with "Get Lucky", from their new album Random Access Memories, Romanthony collaborated with the 2 French DJs 12 years ago, on the album Discovery (2001). He featured on "Too Long" & "One More Time" : the latter has become a real hit. This song has been the first single from the album, a real electro anthem that uses auto-tune. N°1 in France after its release, the single became the theme song for the NRJ Music Awards during 9 years. It has also been quoted by the magazine "Rolling Stone" as "best dance song ever" in 2011.

This has been Daft Punk's first international hit but the only one for Romanthony. From 2001, he continued his career as a singer/producer, collaborating on Laidback Luke & Tom Stephan's "Show" in 2008 & on Kraak & Smaak's "Let's Go Back" in 2012. Those songs haven't been as successful as "One More Time".
