The band started out as "heavy metal" and "glam rock", but with the addition of newer members and current members switching roles, the music turned much heavier styles of thrash and death metal.

In 2011, S.A. Sanctuary was signed to Butchered Records from Buffalo, New York, releasing their CD Abandon In Place on 9/11/11.
