Saez The photo for Damien Saez's new album J'Accuse, shown on his concerts' posters, represented a naked woman in a caddie, it has been censored.

According to the Autorité de Régularisation Professionnelle de la Publicité, many commercial networks, like CBS Outdoor, Clear Channel, Decaux & Mediatransports, refused to show the cover of Damien Saez's new album, named J'Accuse.

The reason is about the "image of a human person", the photo (taken by Jean-Baptiste Mondino), representing a naked woman in a caddie, should be degrading the woman's character, shown as a product. Isn't what the artist "accuses", disturbing the government's heads ?

The singer sent his answer in a communiqué, for medias. "Hello Paris, good morning sadness. Our photo, a naked woman in a caddie, shown as the album cover & the poster for our concerts, has been forbidden in underground halls & newspapers' kiosks. Second point, another poster about this prohibition has been forbidden too, disturbing freedom of art & freedom of expression. A naked woman in a caddie, shocking the commerce ? Put the system into question ? Right to inform ? Which crime have we committed ? They say, this prohibition protects human nature, I doubt it. But to protect the caddie's image ? It's certain. Advertisers take the flag of the female nature... Let me laugh... Sure thing, caddies are more expensive than men in our country. When the commerce looks like a discotheque door, when racism becomes a cultural crime, shame grows. I have shame for these people, shame for my country, shame for what it has become, shame for this censorship when society opens its mouth. We were avant-gardist that day... Whereas vulgarity & unequal moods appear in underground halls, whereas we sell our skins to anyone stupid & to children, whereas the woman has been disturbed in her quality, other than being a cat who's shown the artificial world, here come the kapos who see a shock when feminism is shown in a pure way. What is this pain that hurts the small pants of small capitalists in their bus ? Will mirrors frighten their faces ? First a photo, then words... When will we find freedom again, anywhere else than our bills ? This album has been made & produced during 2 years, with music, reflexion, money & most of all, time. The popular art is hurt by damagers. I'm part of the company majors, not to become a telephone call, a ringtone sold to stupid men. Of course we are disgusted, of course nothing interests us, of course a photo is not much today, but tomorrow ? Of course I'll still be free, of course it's a pain to go shopping, of course there's something darker, of course, of course... But symbols are here to represent deep pains, & things that aren't so important hide forests, the day when they are burned, they hurt more than freedom" Damien Saez said.

The singer, whose new album J'Accuse will come out on March 29, will be on tour in France & he'll perform on May 5 & 6 at Paris' Zénith.
