Sam Cardon was born in 1956 in Durango, Colorado USA and later moved to Farmington, New Mexico USA. He played piano and took piano lessons until the age 11 when he became interested in sports and then later on became interested in music again.

Sam Cardon went to college at BYU, Brigham Young University in Provo Utah and earned his bachelor degree in media composition.

He composed music for TV channels including Good Morning America, Monday Night Football, National Geographic Explorer, and ABC Sunday Night at the Movies, Winter Olympic Games.

He also composed music for the Mormon Church including "The New Testament Video Soundtrack" 1999, "Old Testament Video Songs" 1999 "The Book of Mormon Video Soundtrack" 1999, "Doctrine and Covenants and Church History Video Soundtrack" 1999 with Kurt Bestor and Merrill Jenson.

He is also best known for composing movie soundtracks to Mormon Church videos including "On Our Own" "Nora's Christmas Gift", "Trail of Hope", "Brigham City", "The Work and The Glory 1,2,3", "Meet the Mormons", "American Prophet: The Story of Joseph Smith",

He is also best known for composing movie and TV soundtracks to cartoon and live action movies including "Davie And Goimyr" "The Velveteen Rabbit" "The Wild Stallion", "Granite Flats". "Passage To Zarahemla"

He is also best known for composing movie soundtracks to documentary videos for IMAX theaters including "Zion Canyon Treasure of the Gods", "Whales", "Mysteries of Egypt", "Mummies: Secrets of the Pharaohs", "Olympic Glory", "Lewis & Clark Great Journey West", "Forces Of Nature", "Texas, The Big Picture", "Titans Of The Ice Age", "The Messiah", "Fires Of Faith" and "Mystic India"
