vocal I actually have heard the entire CD, and this is not my favorite, but it's really catchy and it's a good song. It's also got a good message. Why should she write him a love song just because he asked for it? That's not how it works.
I really hope her career takes off because she's very talented and is a real musician.

she wrote the song in response to her record label's demand that she have a quintessential love song on her album. she didn't want to because that's not who she is as an artist, so instead she wrote a song about how she wasn't going to write them a love song, but left it open to interpretation so listeners can relate it to their own stories. pure genius!
Holy crap man! They play this song 20 times a day (overnight and early morning actually) on VH1! She is one of their "You Oughta Know" artists, but still the YOK artists don't usually get this much play.

vocal I don't know how you all have failed to recognize what an original and interesting song this is. She has a beautiful voice and even though this sort of music is honestly a little gay for me, I can't deny that lyrically and musically this is a success.
