AboutSelena Marie Gomez (born on July 22, 1992, in Grand Prairie, Texas, US) began working as a child actress - appearing on the popular children's show, Barney from 2002 to 2004.

At age 15, Gomez scored her breakthrough and most notable role as Alex Russo on Disney Channel's "Wizards of Waverly Place", which ran from 2007 to 2012. She even sang the show's theme song, Everything Is Not What It Seems while also lending her voice to recording songs for other Disney projects (like Cruella De Vil for "101 Dalmatian's" re-released edition and included on "Disneymania 6" CD compilation, Fly To Your Heart for "Tinkerbell", Send It On alongside then fellow Disney Channel Stars - Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato for "Disney Friends for Change".

During 2009, the main cast of WOWP appeared in their own featured Disney Channel movie (ironically titled) "The Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie" that was released on August 28, 2009 and tuned in 11.4 million viewers at its premiere. The movie's plot mainly dove into repairing the Russo family's state of existence after Alex accidentally creates a spell that separates her parents from even knowing nor have met each other in the first place.

Aside from working on Disney, Gomez starred as Mary Santiago for the film, Another Cinderella Story released in 2008.
That same year, Selena began branching out in the teen music scene and signed a deal with Disney Channel's partnered music label, Hollywood Records.

Gomez specifically wanted to separate herself from her Disney teen female counterparts (Cyrus and Lovato) by choosing to form her own "pop-rock band" named Selena Gomez & The Scene. The band name was an "ironic jab" at the people who called the frontwoman "wannabe scene."
The Scene's members consisted of Selena on lead vocals, Ethan Roberts on guitar, Joey Clement on bass, Greg Garman on drums, and Dane Forrest on keyboards.

Shortly after the band's debut single titled, Falling Down, keyboardist Nick Foxer was replaced by Dane Forrest. Foxer was reportedly busy with his marriage.
On September 29, 2009, Selena & The Scene's debut album, Kiss & Tell came out, (and on March 5, 2010, it was certified Gold by the RIAA for sales of 500,000 in the USA).

On December 11, 2009, the album's second single, Naturally was released and has since then has been certified Platinum by the CRIA.

The Scene's second album, A Year Without Rain, was released in the US on September 21st, 2010. The album's lead single, Round & Round, was released on June 22nd, 2010 and peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at #24, becoming the band's most successful single on the chart. The second single (the title track), A Year Without Rain, was released digitally on September 7th, 2010.

The band's third album, When The Sun Goes Down, was released in the US on June 28, 2011. The album's lead single, Who Says, debuted on March 10, 2011, On Air with Ryan Seacrest show on 102.7 KIIS FM. The digital single was made available four days later on March 14th, 2011.

Selena Gomez officially broke up with her band in 2012 and released her first solo album, Stars Dance on July 19th, 2013. On November 2014, Selena Gomez ended her contract with Hollywood Records with the Greatest Hits album, For You, with the hit single, The Heart Wants What It Wants.

Gomez then signed a contract with Interscope Records to make her second solo album, titled Revival which was released on October 9th, 2015. It spawned renowned hit singles in Gomez's discography like Good For You, Same Old Love, Hands To Myself and Kill 'Em With Kindness. Three of the four singles reached #1 on US Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart.

In 2020, her third solo album titled, Rare, was released. The first single, Lose You To Love Me that came out on October 23, 2019 - became Selena's first #1 single in the US, skyrocketing from #15 to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 music chart officially on November 9, 2019. The album's second single, Look At Her Now came literally a day after LYTLM, peaking at #3.

Selena Gomez is also known for featuring in popular music collaborations such as songs: I Want You to Know, We Don't Talk Anymore, It Ain't Me, Fetish, Wolves, Taki Taki.

While busily balancing her acting and music careers, Gomez has also been working behind the scenes as a producer on shows 13 Reasons Why from 2017 to 2020, "Only Murders in the Building" from 2021 to present - a show she stars alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short.
