Serge Gainsbourg is in the spotlight, nearly 20 years after his death : CD-packs & DVD are currently re-released & the exhibition at Paris' Cité de la Musique continues until March 1.

Serge Gainsbourg should have been 80 on April 2, 2008. Apart from this anniversary date, let's go back on the exceptionnal artist's career ! During his career, he made a lot of collaborations. From Alain Goraguer, at the beginning, to Billy Rush, on his last 2 albums, & also Jean-Claude Vannier, Sly Dunbar & Robbie Shakespeare, he created his musical universe. His sensitiveness & his talent caught the society he saw. He played a modern artist & spent full-time in his work, making his image as an artistic support. Even if his provocation has been criticised, the audience followed him during years...

For weeks, the magnificent 5-CD pack Les 100 Plus Belles Chansons has been released, with a 32-page booklet. All Serge's albums have been re-released on vinyl, for the first time since their original release. The 2-DVD pack D'Autres Nouvelles Des Etoiles, with 4:40 hours & a digital sound 5.1 & DTS, includes the filming of Histoire De Melody Nelson, from 1971, & interviews. Concerts at Paris' Casino & Zénith, duets with Jane Birkin, Brigitte Bardot, France Gall, Catherine Deneuve, Charlotte Gainsbourg & Jacques Dutronc... Don't forget the 4-CD pack Mister Melody, with Gainsbourg's singers, from Juliette Gréco to Serge Reggiani & also Régine, Anna Karina, Françoise Hardy & Isabelle Adjani.

Also, the very beautiful exhibition dedicated to Serge Gainsbourg at Paris' Cité de la Musique continues until March 1 (discover it here).
