| I adore this song. It's so happy, and every time I hear it I can't believe how excellent it is. This is one of my favourite songs, and it's one of those songs that gives me hope for the future of music--maybe we WILL get past pop crap and into something better. | 0 @ 13-01-2005 01:48 mycaesar | 6 posts

| this song is not a happy song. i've always found it to be really sad. it's a song about breaking up; ambivalence that culminates with one person telling the other they're moving on. beautiful though.
"cannot wrestle a dove":
the girl's not going to be able to fight to keep him around or win him back. he's the dove. it's a sign of peace. he's not going to fight back. he's not even going to be around. | 0 @ 04-02-2005 19:27 cheeriosnsalt | 7 posts

Yeah, this song is definitely not a happy song. Just listen to the lyrics, no smiling there. Its an awesome song and I was so excited to hear it and Those to Come on the "In Good Company" soundtrack. | 0 @ 07-02-2005 08:40 eriday | 3 posts

I understand most of the song... it seems he can't commit to more than what they had, and he's realized that he needs to let her go because he doesn't want anything more... like in: you love a sinking stone that will never elope so get used to the lonesome
but what about the part: you want to sing and dance but you sat on your hands... what does this mean? what did the girl not do that could've changed anything? | 0 @ 24-04-2005 03:39 Mien | 1,324 posts

Astonishingly deep break-up song.

This is an excellent song! To be honest I think this song can be seen to sound happy or sad.
When I first heard this I thought it was a happy tune untill I saw the lyrics. | 0 @ 09-10-2005 14:42 folkebernadotte | 53 posts

Ohh I love this song!
I find a fatal flaw in the logic of love
And go out of my head
You love a sinking stone
That will never elope
So get used to the lonesome

This is certainly an anti-commitment song. It's great though. | 0 @ 25-07-2006 20:54 mknight | 2 posts
| It's bittersweet. He's breaking up with her, but he's finally free from what he didn't want all along. It's about his newfound freedom. | 0 @ 15-10-2006 17:37 DeadDreamers | 35 posts

People would be surprised to know how much good vocal ability or a good choice of vocal style can makes someone thing they like the lyrics and they don't realize they don't even really know them... this song is all rhythm and vocals... and it's all it needs |
