154 posts	actually, this isnt sung in icelandic. it is sung in a made up language that sounds similar to icelandic, which of course wud be very hard to tell, considering the amount of people in here who probly dont speak icelandic. but this song is not actually sung in icelandic, none of their songs are. the title 'svefn-g-englar' is actually a play on words in icelandic. btw... their latest song 'glosoli'... if you know the meaning of 'glosoli' or 'glosoalia' it in fact means 'a faux language created similarly to an existing language to sound like this language, when in fact it is not that language' so theres some interesting information.

10 posts	i'm from iceland(and speak icelandic) and i understand this song.. it is in icelandic. i think only some of theyr songs are sung in a made up language..

154 posts	rhythm melody instruments lyrics vocal eep.. lol sorry wat am i saying? i just thought sigur ros' songs were all sung in 'hopelandic' im sorry, i am wrong =] saw the film clip for svefn-g-englar, untitled#1 and vidrar vel til loftarasa the other nite... pretty brilliant videos man =] ive seen their other 2 videos last year wen they first came out. talk about atmospheric! this video is strange in a beautiful way, and i agree with the person who said 'sigur ros' music isnt about understanding, its about interpretation' i think thats so true, well at least, for a non-icelandic speaking person.
