Yer, Daniel Johns, the lead singer, wrote this song about anorexia, whilst he was suffering the disease himself. He suffered from anorexia for a while, Im not sure how long, but he was admitted to hospital I think
"Ana" refers to anorexia, there is a line in the lyrics that goes like this:
'Ana wrecks you life like an anorexia life'
In the film clip, you should notice also that he is in a wheelchair because he was so badly affected by anorexia when he had it
The song is really touching and just knowing that he has gone through this all makes it more touching cause he just isnt writting a song about what ever, he is writting what he has gone through and he knows what its like. The part 'Sandpaper tears corrode the film' is were I usually break down.
i love it so much. but during the neon ballroom album daniel has recently admitted during an interview that he felt like a slave to the music and hated it so much but he couldnt stop, thats how neon ballroom came to us everybody. through daniels pain
me and my friend both think that this song is one of silverchair's best. but my other two friends think its boring. how could you find this song boring? it's beyond me.
