Was this their first song? Anyone got any interpretations for it?

It was their first song released, they made a few songs before the won the competition that allowed them to release this song.

Daniel has said that this song, as well as most of the songs on Frogstomp, was about things he saw on TV at the time.

I'd love to hear some interpretations from others about it.

That is so awesome that you know Daniel. He could be a god. And his voice in this song is so amazing. Wasn't he like 15 when he wrote this song?

I love this song. It's good, I mean, considering how young they were when it was released.
They won't play this on tour anymore though, Daniel says he doesn't even know what it's about. Now, I can understand not playing a lot of songs off Frogstomp, but this one, they should play, because it was their first song, the one that everyone liked.
Aaaaanyway....

The reason they don't play this song anymore is because it was a completely commercial song. They made it because they knew that it's the kind of thing that would circulate on the radio a lot. That's why Daniel doesn't know what it's about, cause it's not really about anything.

As for the person who played netball with his sister and who has shared a Coke with him, you are the luckiest human being on the face of the planet, and I'm not even being sarcastic.

this song is reportedly about a news article daniel saw on t.v. a guy was being led around a homeless hostel or dirty motel or something and he had to stay the night but kept asking to go and the reporter guy told you'll have to wait till tomorrow - hence the song is born!

It's about a tv show that Daniel Johns was watching.
A documentry on S.B.S. (Australian cultural tv station) about a guy
who's a bit snobbish who goes down to a homeless part of town. He
offered money if he could stay for a day over night. And it's his
(the guys) interpretation of the situation that he
wants to get out, but he has to wait till tomorrow.

Kick ASS Song as are pretty much all of silverchair's songs....

I like this song alot... but it seems to come across as the stereotypical song that would basically just get alot of radio airplay therefore only get more fans or buyers. So in all honesty whilst this song does have a nice beat to it and the instruments in it are fantastic... I don't like the fact that they seem to have released it just to get more money.
