It has a pronounced retro sound to it if you are old enough to remember some groups like Buffalo Springfield. (Think Steven Stills) One of the men in my unit at Bien Hoa could play and sing most any song you could name and he was very good with Stills vocals. When it was safe? he could be counted on to break out an old guitar he had liberated and to start taking requests. "Shut Your Eyes" sounds so much like him it is a little scary. December, forty years ago; we didn't get to hear many songs from him because Sir Charles was probing our area too much. When Tet hit in January; that answered all of our questions about the activity and silenced our resident musician forever. Losing a man was always rough on a young Lt.; but somehow his death was personal to me. He was a small bit of sunshine in a gray world and the men loved him. I'll have to see SP when they come to town. When they play this piece I'm going to remember a kid who would have liked the group and probably could play every note they ever produced as soon as he heard it. A155MM Colonel, USA, (Ret.)
