5 posts	@ Skrillex Bangarang (feat. Sirah) lyrics This is not a song that is all about the lyrics. I've never heard a track that gets closer to the effect of a defibrulator than Bangarang. Don't bother getting used to the feeling, because you're going to have a near-impossible time finding anything else that matches the electronic hard-hitting intensity that this song does. Pharaohs by Mustard Pimp gets about as close as anything else I've heard. Not even Skrillex's own tracks can match the ferocity of this one, but my guess is he's not done writing tracks as explode-your-face-off as this one.

5 posts	@ Twin Shadow Golden Light lyrics It is very hard to find music that both a) stays on the edge of style, and does it really well, and b) has something disarmingly earnest and thoughtful to say that touches the heart. Golden Light does both of these things, and that is why it's such a popular song. People are starving for music that can deliver in both these ways. I hope more modern artists go through the blood sweat and tears required to work out music like this, because it is so much better than the alternative!

It is rare to have this fresh an understanding of love after the first lover or two, so it seems like a reflection of a lost relationship from probably years ago when she was more innocent. However, there's nothing like the contrast of pained lyrics with sweet poppy music behind it. It has an aching beauty to it, and the more you listen in to it, the more the knife digs bittersweetly in to your heart.
