| Stacey Kent was born on March 27, 1968 in South Orange, NJ. She attended New York's Sarah Lawrence College & moved to London, where she studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She met saxophonist Jim Tomlinson, who married her in 1991. Her first album Close Your Eyes came out in 1997. In 2002, Stacey received a BBC Jazz Award for "Female Artist".
