About"Star Academy" was the French version of "Operacion Triunfo", produced by Endemol. It has been aired on TF1 from 2001 to 2008 and 2022 & on NRJ12 in 2012. The hosts of the show have been Nikos Aliagas (2001 to 2008) & Mathieu Delormeau (2012). The headmasters have been Alexia Laroche-Joubert (2001, 2002, 2005 & 2006), Nathalie André (2003), Gérard Louvin (2004), Raphaëlle Ricci (2007), Armande Altaï (2008), Charlotte Valandrey (2012) & Michaël Goldman (2022).

The first season was aired from October 2001 to January 2002. The contestants were : Amandine Bisqueret (Belgian), Carine Haddadou, Cécile Boutry, Djalil Amine, François Roure, Grégory Gulli, Jean-Pascal, Jenifer, Jessica Márquez, Khalifa M'Baye, Mario Barravecchia (Belgian), Olivia Ruiz, Patrice Maktav, Sidonie Koch & Stéphane Bosmans (Belgian). They recorded the single "La Musique", French version of "Angelica", originally sung by Nicoletta.
Jenifer was the winner & Mario Barravecchia was the runner-up. Jean-Pascal released his debut album in 2002 & Olivia Ruiz released her debut album in 2003.

The second season was aired from September to December 2002. The contestants were : Alexandre Balduzzi, Anne-Laure Sibon, Aurélie Konaté, Emma Daumas, Eva Chemouny, Fabien Fasaké, Georges-Alain Jones, Houcine Camara, Isabelle Lemoine, Jérémy Châtelain, Nolwenn Leroy, Philippe Miro, Rudy Carvalho & Stéphanie Hansen. They recorded two singles : "Musique", originally sung by France Gall & "Paris-Latino", originally sung by Bandolero.
Nolwenn Leroy was the winner & Houcine Camara was the runner-up. Emma Daumas & Jérémy Châtelain released their debut albums in 2003 & Georges-Alain Jones released his debut album in 2005. Aurélie Konaté played in the musical "Belles, Belles, Belles" in 2003.

The third season was aired from September to December 2003. The contestants were : Amina El Bennouni, Anne Thibault, Édouard Algayon, Élodie Frégé, Icaro Da Silva (Brazilian), Lukas Delcourt, Marjorie Condoris, Michaël Sapience, Michal Kwiatkowski (Polish), Morganne Matis, Patxi, Pierre Bouley, Romain Wilson, Sofia Essaïdi, Stéphanie Dalmasso & Valérie Deniz. They recorded two singles : "La Bamba" (traditional) & "Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting", originally sung by Elton John.
Élodie Frégé was the winner & Michal Kwiatkowski was the runner-up. Édouard, Pierre & Romain founded the band Premix & Lukas Delcourt released his debut album in 2004. Patxi signed to Atmosphérique & released his debut album in 2006.

The fourth season was aired from September to December 2004. The contestants were : Emilie Ducrot, Enrique Toyos, Francesca Antoniotti, Gauthier Roubichou, Grégory Lemarchal, Harlem, Hoda Nekra, John Eyzen, Karima Charni, Lennie Joal, Lucie Bernardoni, Mathieu Johann, Morgan Auger, Radia Bensarsa, Sandy François, Sébastien Degut, Sofiane & Tina Gardrinier. They recorded three singles : "Laissez-Moi Danser", French version of "Voglio l'anima", originally sung by Dalida, "En Chantant", originally sung by Michel Sardou & "Adieu Monsieur Le Professeur", originally sung by Hugues Aufray.
Grégory Lemarchal (1983-2007) was the winner & Lucie Bernardoni was the runner-up. Mathieu Johann released his debut album in 2005. Sofiane signed to EMI France & released his debut album in 2007.

The fifth season was aired from September to December 2005. The contestants were : Alexia Palombo, Arno Demessine, Chloé Boucaud, Ely Breton (Canadian), Émilie Minatchy, Grégoire Bourdin, Jee-L, Jérémy Amelin, Jill Vandermeulen (Belgian), Laure Ruhland, Magalie Vaé, Maud Verdeyen, Michaël Tabury, Moïses Quaresma, Nassim & Neissa Parize (twins), Pascal Mono & Pierre Mathyss. They recorded three singles : "Je Ne Suis Pas Un Héros", originally sung by Daniel Balavoine, "Santiano", originally sung by Hugues Aufray & "À Bicyclette", originally sung by Yves Montand.
Magalie Vaé was the winner & Jérémy Amelin was the runner-up. Pascal Mono released his debut album in 2006. In 2007, Émilie Minatchy played Mélanie in the TV series Baie Des Flamboyants.

The sixth season was aired from September to December 2006. The contestants were : Bastien Jacquemart, Brice Léon, Céline Duchange, Cynthia Brown, Cyril Cinélu, David Lemeunier, Domy Fidanza, Elfy Ka, Eloïsha, Fafa Ruffino, Faustine Nogherotto, Gaël Garcia, Jean-Charles Dubot, Judith, Laurent Chanadet, Ludo Pimenta, Marina & Nicolas Charvillat. They recorded two singles : "Y'A Qu'Un Ch'veu", originally sung by Michel Polnareff & "Porque Te Vas", originally sung by Jeanette.
Cyril Cinélu was the winner & Domy Fidanza was the runner-up.
Marina released her debut album in 2008.
Judith signed to Warner Music France & released her debut album in 2011.
In 2019, Eloïsha participated to The Voice, La Plus Belle Voix season nine but failed at the blind auditions.
Faustine Nogherotto passed away in January 2021 at 31 years old.

The seventh season was aired from October 2007 to February 2008. The contestants were : Alexandra Cohen, Alexia Melotto, Antoine Lefèvre, Bertrand Agot, Claire-Marie Bron, Claudia Atkinson, Dojima Ounei, Eva Léonard, Jérémy Chapron, Lucie Azard, Mathieu Edward, Maureen Angot, Noémie Lovati, Pierre Yanko, Quentin Mosimann, Sevan Malakian & Yaëlle Smaïl. They recorded the single "Bangla Desh", originally sung by George Harrison.
Quentin Mosimann was the winner & Mathieu Edward was the runner-up. From February to April 2012, Maureen Angot participated to The Voice, La Plus Belle Voix first season & Jenifer became her vocal coach.

The eighth season was aired from September to December 2008. The contestants were : Alice Raucoules, Ana Palomo-Diaz, Anissa Stili, Édouard Privat, Gaétan, Gautier Reyz, Harold, Joanna Lagrave, Julia, Laure Cappellini, Marilyne Lecomte, Mickels Réa, Quentin Lemonnier, Solène Le Pierres & Yvane Beharry. They recorded the single "Chante", French version of Carpenters' "Sing".
Mickels Réa was the winner & Alice Raucoules was the runner-up. Joanna Lagrave played in the musical "Il Était Une Fois Joe Dassin" in 2010.

The ninth season has been aired from December 2012 to February 2013. The contestants were : Daniel Lœillot, Jimmy Weber, Laurène Bourvon, Louis Mevel, Manika Auxire, Mathilde Lompret, Nancy Logan, Pauline Maserati, Romain Traoré, Sidoine Remy, Tad Fray, Tony Bredelet, Vanina Pietri & Zayra Setouty.
Laurène Bourvon was the winner and Zayra Setouty was the runner-up. Unfortunately Laurène did not release any album on Disc AZ France (Universal). In 2019, Tony participated to The Voice, La Plus Belle Voix season nine but failed at the blind auditions.

The tenth season has been aired from October to November 2022. The contestants were : Ahcène Menacer, Amisse, Anisha Jo Anyjaine, Carla Hugon, Cenzo Tuihani, Chris Camalon, Enola Cosnier, Julien Canaby, Léa Haddad, Louis Albiget, Paola Perrin, Stanislas Souffoy-Rittner & Tiana Da Rocha.
Anisha Jo Anyjaine was the winner & Enola Cosnier was the runner-up.
