 First off, if you haven't checked out their new song "Daylight To Break", you definitely should! The rest is copied from Wikipedia:
On June 2 Switchfoot e-mailed a newsletter containing a free download of "Daylight to Break" [4], and a statement from Tim implying that the band wants to have a new album out by the end of the year, as well as thanking their fans for helping keep the band together for ten years. The band has also set up a webcam in their recording studio.
Switchfoot's video podcasts have offered many glimpses of their next album, including (in episode 6) an image of a couple dozen song titles. Apparently, the band is trying to decide which ones to keep for the newest album.
Bootlegs of acoustic radio performances of a song called "Oh Gravity" (a clip of its studio version was featured in the latest podcast) and another untitled song [5], as well as the song "Awakening" which the band has been playing on their most recent tour, are circulating amongst fans on Switchfoot's message boards. These songs are predicted to be on the next album.

"The album is done", according to a Switchfoot MySpace blog. It is scheduled to be released on December 26. The album will be titled "Oh! Gravity".
Their first single titled "Dirty Second Hands" has been realized, check it out!
