I agree, it is probably my favorite song. It is full of meaning and doesn't get old. The band is awesome, and I love them because of everything they give to everyone.

yeah, this song to me means that regardless of what's going on in our lives we can always say "Spirit take me up in arms with You"....what do you guys think about the meaning?

This is the best song on The Beautiful Let Down CD. I haven't heard any of their other CDs. I actually didn't even know that they had more than one CD!

This song is saying that life can go both ways; good and bad. On a deeper aspect though, it is suggesting that maybe once things get bad enough you have to surrender your pride; your power to a higher form of existence. Sometimes you can't fix the problem yourself, but have to rely on some other force or person to help you get back on your feet.

Yeah this song is totally awesome.. 24 is my favorite number and yeah whenever he says "Wrestled the angel, for more than a name" my brother (jacob) says HEY! THATS ME! cause like Jacob wrestled the angel.. I'm not sure how many people are gonna get that but anyways its a great song.

This song seems to be based on the story of Jacob wrestling with God all night long. Before his wrestling experience, Jacob was not a very nice person. He was a cheater. He would sort of bend the rules to make them suit his desires. When God wrestled with him, He finally "won" by dislocating Jacob's hip. God hit Jacob "below the belt" to show him that that's what Jacob had been doing all his life. As a result, Jacob not only had his name changed, God changed it to suit his new personality. This song is about new believers coming to know Christ.
Agree? Disagree? Hadn't thought about it?

Jon Foreman wrote this song the day before he turned 25... he was going through some of the same things i'm starting to face now... he was trying to sort throught the 24 voices inside his head and his 24 different faces so that he could become 1 person all the time... the song is about a fight with yourself really, and figuring out how to be true to yourself and everyone else

In one word: AMAZING

In more than one word: This song is the perfect song, it not only has intoxicating lyrics, but adds the nessecity of thinking, it makes you think. Makes you want to know about the lyrics and why they chose them. Anyone who has read the Bible knows that this song is about Jacob's "matchup" against God, in which God had to humble him and show him the error of his ways. The song is about how God is the ultimate of all things, thus the verse "I am the second man..."-- meaning, we are second to Him, pretty deep huh?

GREATEST SONG EVER
