| Okay, I saw the music video for this and I'm a little confused. What exactly is everyone running from? Is it aliens? I don't really see how it ties in with the song. | 0 @ 18-04-2004 16:45 laylababe3 | 3 posts

| I like to think that the guy is breaking free from the tension that surrounds him as represented by the kids running in the opposite direction. He's not going to go with the grain any more he's going to go against it. Against everything that's holding him back from becoming who he should be. And as far as what he's supposed to looking at. It's left to your interpretation. don't think it's supposed to be any one certain thing. It's what ever you need it to be. It's what you've been dared to move for, it's what you got up off the floor for and that's going to be different for everyone. | 0 @ 25-04-2004 19:12 chimaera | 26 posts
| Oh okay, that makes sense. I thought it was a deleted scene from Independence Day or something. | 0 @ 13-05-2004 03:26 erin02 | 26 posts
| ok this song is beautiful...switchfoot rocks....and my two cents on the meaning of the song....seeing as how they are a christian band, i think that it's about the second coming of Jesus and like daring you to take a stand in your faith even when everybody else is running away... | 0 @ 14-05-2004 02:53 Ataris11 | 197 posts
| I know. Hey, has anyone seen Passion of the Christ? It's a great movie isnt it? | 0 @ 14-05-2004 15:00 wwjdchen | 5 posts
| although it's not a great hit (?) - I don't really know wheather you can say so - in Germany, I'm in love with this song since I've seen "A walk to remember" | 0 @ 14-05-2004 15:01 Moosey | 10 posts
| I've seen the Passion of the Christ. It's my favorite movie of all time. I've seen it 3 times. I love Jim Caveizel...hes my Jesus. | 0 @ 17-05-2004 00:02 midnightxvoice | 9 posts
| my interpretation- i think that the song is just about a growing relationship with Christ in general, and learning to follow Him rather than the world, and how tough that can be.
this song is great | 0 @ 02-06-2004 23:25 Volleyforlife07 | 116 posts
| This is really a grat song. I think that the video is saying saying more of Christ return maybe... or at least thats what i think that it is saying. The guy is running to the place where everyone is running away from... is that saying that people are running away from the Lord and he is running to it? I dont know... But the song is without a doubt a great great song... I have seen The Passion of the Christ. We went as a school to go and see it. The next day in Choir we asked our director what she thought of it. She told us its not a movie you can say " Oh it was sooo good." or "It was the best movie ever!" Its the kind of movie that you say that you were touched and changed by it. And i must say i have been completly changed by it. | 0 @ 07-06-2004 14:12 Kimberlass | 14 posts

Wow...can you say contradiction? First of All, the Passion wasn't designed to be a repeat veiwing (unless you have friends who wouldn't see it without you) and man...I guess you're trying to be religious by saying that, but let's thing here....Jim Caveizel is your Jesus? WHAT?!?!? Even if your saying it as a joke it's a sin in your religion that you are oh so faithful to...
Anyway, I'm off to wath the video on launch, I'll tell you what I think of it in a minute. | 0 @ 07-06-2004 14:14 kalsonberry | 14,060 posts

Okay, from the video and the song, here is what I get from it (it's all a matter of opinion, and I'm just sharing):
In the beginning this kid has made some huge mistake (He's standing there, doubled over) and then he makes the choice to move on, and not dwell on it (he stands up, catches his breath, and moves on) so he starts running, which I'm going to go ahead and sound cheesy and say that the ally is a metaphor for life, and he's just taking it all in and not slowing down for problems he experiences (people running into him). All of the other people represent the people who are trying to rush back and fix things they did, and try to change the past, but he's just embracing his mistakes and running on. The line "Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell" says that he realized when he made his mistake he didn't have to dwell on it forever; it was just a mistake and was forgiven as it happened. At the end, he's not sure what's going to happen next but he knows that he's lived to the fullest.
So, ya, get your religious meaning from it if you wish, I think we can all agree it's telling us to live life to the fullest.
I hate sounding cheesy. I need some mouthwash now. *growls*

| wait . . . are you talking about the Music Video? or Passion of the Christ? (well, it wouldn't matter which one you meant, anyways, b/c i haven't seen either of them)
I do like this song . . . but I kinda like Poparazzi a little better | 0 @ 17-06-2004 01:20 fUnNaYfUnNaY3 | 8 posts
| Kimberlass - i must agree w. u . i think the same thing. it really makes sense, and just bcuz they r a christian band doesnt mean that all their songs have 2 b interperted in a religous way, although u r rite 2. i think all of them make sense, but Kimberlass' makes the most 2 me. good job!! lol ...and i love this song [topic=] | 0 @ 17-06-2004 03:18 FOBpunk22 | 226 posts
